Merry Critmas from the Samurai Snowmen!

I like how your style is so mixed between extreme complexity and smooth simplicity. On the complex side we have that giant claw thing coming out of his arm, his headband, cuffs and the inner lining of his cloak. For simple we have his hair, face, shirt and pants. Together they create zones of interest; I don't need to look at his clothes because they are simply clothes, but the cuffs impart a feel of elegance while the inner lining suggests the character might be more complex on the inside. There is something royal about him, something higher. The thing around his right leg could be something he's been forced to wear like an ankle monitor, or even a weight to keep him from escaping imprisonment.

Obviously though I should be focused on the giant claw hand thing, and there your complexity feels a bit too much. Each claw seems to have three or more highly-detailed joints, while the inner spike seems like a tower of washers and tubes. The whole thing is purple and brown and rusty-looking. My eye can't affix to any single part for long, as if the thing was designed to be hard to look at. If it's supposed to be somehow alien or grotesque, great. But if this is something we're going to see a lot of, I feel like you're going to end up simplifying it eventually. Consider this: if someone wanted to draw it, would they be able to from memory? If not, it's going to be hard for the mind's eye to draw and thus remember.

Vision: Some kind of demon-boy protagonist.

Originality: A few of the details feel cliche such as the hero's headband, the spiky demon teeth and his complex inner lining implying he's more complex than he seems, but overall he feels original.

Technique: I really like the mix of complex and simple, and nothing looks bad except maybe the claw.

Impact: My eye is drawn into the picture and I can feel a story behind this character.
